The G&L M-2500 is a relatively new model for G&L (first introduced in 2012). It's clearly derived from the classic L-2500 model, both in terms of styling and tone. The pickups and the preamp are new, but basic tone of the instrument remains the same. Where there was a 3-way switch to choose between neck pickup, bridge pickup or both pickups, there is now a continuous blend knob which gives you access to all the tones in between the old extremes. The passive bass and treble tone controls of the older bass preamp have been replaced with 3-band active cut and boost knobs for treble, mids, and bass. All in all, it is a very familiar instrument with a modern twist on the on-board electronics interface. I dig it.
