Description
This bass has couple of innovative things going on: the Century-3006 model is new, as is the "Prism" effect in the top.
The Century Signature model comes standard with a wedge neck. Roscoe has recently decided to allow customers to order a Century-3006, which will come with a Standard neck (commonly found on LGs and SKBs) by default. On this bass, I requested a Wenge Center neck, a $150 upcharge.
To create the prism effect, the craftsmen at Roscoe have taken successive cuts from a board, bookmatched them, and then laid them out in expanding layers. So the inner two boards are a bookmatch, then the next two boards out are a bookmatch, etc. Finally, a thin Maple veneer has been glued between each board to highlight the effect. Too cool!! This is the first bass to feature this new technique.
