Serial Number 6463 is an LG-3005 made with the Exhibition Grade Quilted Maple top shown above.

Jimmy Haslip's famous LG-3006 was the inspiration for this bass. I had the chance to play Jimmy's bass last summer when he did a clinic here @ Rocket Music, and I loved hearing the story of how he and Keith arrived at the design of that wonderful instrument that Jimmy has played all over the world these last 15 years.

Inspired by that meeting, I wanted to offer a 5-string version of Jimmy's bass that is right-handed and strung normally. That yields the reverse slant of the pickups, so that the thicker strings are more articulate and the thinner strings are fatter. That's how Jimmy's bass is setup, even though visually it appears to be the opposite. The whole lefty & strung upside down thing causes the pickup slant to get turned around.

The bass turned out exactly as I'd hoped. It's got a big, fat tone that is all Roscoe!

One other nice feature of this bass is that I ordered it before the price increase that happened earlier this year. So this bass is about 15% less expensive that it would be if we ordered it today. So this one will be a nice deal for somebody!
