Watching this video has inspired me to order a Stingray similar to Pino's 1979 Stingray. I think Pino's fingerboard is probably Rosewood (that's what Music Man used in the pre-Ernie Ball days), but that's no longer available as an option. So Pau Ferro it shall be, which should be fairly close sonically and texturally. Pau is a little bit harder (which is actually a good thing, especially if you plan to use roundwounds on this), and it's still in the rosewood family.
This bass weighs 9.0 lbs.
